One NASA engineer has made a fabulously looking Halloween costume by using 2 iPad 2 tablets sewn into a costume. Both devices have FaceTime apps running and the effect is rather chilling. It appears that the person wearing this costume has a large zombie looking hole in his mid section. The creative guys name is Mark Rober and he is the one responsible for this funny idea. You can see the trick in the Youtube video bellow.
We can say it is something quite different. And it would could have chilling effect on someone unsuspecting, couldn’t it? Did you seen some other Apple themed Halloween costume idea?
One of the best known jailbreak developers out there known as @MuslceNerd has proved that the jailbreak community already has a jailbreak for iPhone 4S running on iOS 5 as well as for iPad 2. He has responded to many requests by his Twitter followers about informations on the new jailbreak, but he warned that the jailbreak is still in a very early phase and wont be released anytime soon. Additionally, no ETA is given so you cant do anything else but wait patiently for iPhone Dev Time to finish their hard work.
If nothing else this gives a hope that the new jailbreak solution for iPhone 4S will be released during the next couple of weeks. We know it is possible and some progress has being made or otherwise Dev Team wouldn’t let the information go public. MuscleNerd wasn’t specific on whether the jailbreak is tethered or untethered and will the same exploit be used for iPad 2 jailbreak. Stay tuned and we will inform you as soon as we get some fresh informations regarding the new jailbreak solution!
Apple has just received approval for selling iPad 2 Wifi 3G model in China and sales of the best tablet in the world should begin this week, probably already on Wednesday. Previously only the iPad 2 3G model of the tablet was available in China, courtesy of a large and well organised black market. Now iPad 2 will become officially available for Chinese users, which is obviously much better and safer option for all users. iPad 2 will be available for purchase through official Apple online store, legal retail stores and licensed retail stores.
So far there are no rumors of the tablet becoming available through one of Chinese network carriers like China Unicom and the prices for the tablet are not yet known. If past experiences count for something, Apple will not reveal the price for iPad 2 until the sales start on Wednesday.
Well knew the answer as far as we are concerned and we are sure it’s same with any other Apple fan out there. But lets try to compare the capabilities of both devices for a moment. It seems that the era of PC’s is behind us and that the future belongs to tablets in various forms and made by different producers. And obviously, Microsoft is really serious regarding this and the proof for this statement is that Windows 8 is basically an tablet version of Windows OS but with a strong point: its compatibility with Windows desktop computers.
Obviously Microsoft is giving its best trying to be a serious competitor to Apple and the fabulous iOS 5. According to latest market researches, Apple is controlling at least 68 % of the world market for tablets and the demand isn’t slowing down.
Here is a Youtube video where iPad 2 and a Windows 8 tablet are compared for more than 10 minutes. You will see how things appear and function on both devices giving you a chance to decide for yourself which one suits better for your particular needs. Keep in mind that Windows 8 is still an early beta testing version of the OS and that things should improve more or less in the coming months. The official version wont be available for a year more but curiously Microsoft has revealed the beta version probably to gain in publicity.
Will this prove as a good strategy for them? Let us know what do you think: which tablet is better in your opinion?
We’ll Always is the theme of Apple‘s next great commercial created in an effort to promote and popularize an device which is already a global winner. The commercial shows something we honestly already know: we’ll always do things we love to do but we will do it in completely new way, the way of iPad 2. And it is really so. The way we learn, the way we play, read books, watch sports, do our everyday work. Everything changes with iPad 2. Is iPad 2 as revolutionary device as desktop computer was in early ’90? We think so. And this commercial says it in a neat way. The fabulous voice of Peter Coyote will tell you why it is so, if you don’t believe us.
There is no mentions of magic like in the previous commercial, it just shows how an iPad 2 an be used for your advantage in real life. All in all this is a great spot, full of nice moments which show why iPad 2 is at the top of the computing in the world. Especially after we recently saw how bad is Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 when compared with the iPad 2!
One of the most prominent iPhone jailbreak developers @Comex has stand by his promise and has released to the public the code of his jailbreak tool. This open code which Comex has used to jailbreak more than million iOS devices running iOS 4.3.3 just by visiting his website JailbreakMe.com will enable all interested developers to learn and understand how did he achieve this. Comex has first become famous when he released the first version of JailbreakMe jailbreak a couple of years ago. The solution is based on a PDF vulnerability which enabled hacking of the device. First iOS to be susceptible was iOS 1 fro iPhone and iPod. JailbreakMe 2.0 was able to hack the iOS 4.
Most famous and useful was the latest version JailbreakMe 3.0 as it was able for the first time to jailbreak iOS 4.3.3 on iPad 2 tablet. This was so far the first jailbreak for iPad 2 but was quickly patched by Apple by releasing the upgrade to iOS 4.3.4. Note: if you didn’t upgrade to iOS 4.3.4 you might as well skip this upgrade as it offers nothing new to the users except that it disables JailbreakMe 3.0.
Perhaps other jailbreak developers could learn some new trick from Comex and enable us with some great new jailbreak and unlock solution? Way to go Comex, we applaud you for your skill and for your willingness to share your knowledge for the benefit of all iOS users!
Apple and Chinese company Foxconn which makes iPads and iPhones for Apple have made a public statement on explosion which happened in Foxconn iPad 2 assembling plant yesterday.
Apple stated that they are very sad to hear about the tragedy which happened in Chengdu facility where two persons lost their life. They have offered deep sympathies to families of two victims and promised a prompt investigation on causes of this tragedy.
Representatives of Foxconn stated that the explosion occurred at 7 pm on May 20th in their Chengdu iPad 2 assembling plant. They have confirmed that two persons lost their life and that 16 other persons have been injured. All injured have been undergoing a medical treatment and the local police and government agencies have been contacted for full investigation on causes of this tragedy.
The explosion has started a fire which was luckily quickly subdued with the help of the local fire department. Foxconn is cooperating with the police and helping them in the investigation. Assembling in this plant has been stopped until things clear out and for safety reasons. The safety of Foxconn personal is the first priority of the company and everything possible will be done in order to find out and prevent any possible future accident like this.
Well sometimes jailbreak news are good and sometimes not so good. It seems that Apple is working full time to prevent our jailbreak developer friends in dev Team and other hacker groups to do their magic with previous exploits.
Now it seems that Apple has closed the Shatter exploit. As the first tests show at least one element on which Shatter depends is gone. Shatter wont be able to work at all with this element missing.
For people desperately wanting to jailbreak their iPad 2 it means that they will need to wait for a Userland jailbreak.
An example of a Userland jailbreak was the Spirit jailbreak. This was an easy jailbreak from the end user standpoint, but it had some serious problems related.
As a jailbreak developer p0sixninja said in his explanation that this kind of jailbreaking was easy for Apple to patch in a upgrade. He added that because the exploit is based in Userland, they didn’t had access to some hardware features. Another exploit known as iBoot had access to much lower level and because of that provided more possibilities to modify the system freely.
This looks like a scoring point for the Apple software team as they have closed the security holes before the exploit was even fully developed at all.
But the game is still open and we wait for a respond from the jailbreak community developers. Who will first find a working exploit?
