We have followed fervently any and all news on the upcoming untethered jailbreak for some time, and at last we are quite happy to inform our readers that a stable untethered jailbreak is now available for use. The credits for this jailbreak should go mostly to @Pod2g, as he was the one which has successfully found a reliable jailbreak solution. After he confirmed the jailbreak to be viable, he has shared his findings with developers in the Chronic Dev Team and the iPhone Dev Team. Both groups have quickly followed up and released their jailbreak tools. Chronic Dev Team has added Pod2g’s solution to a Cydia app called Corona, while iPhone Dev Team released a new version of both RedSn0w and Pwnagetools.
If you haven’t upgraded yet to iOS 5.0.1 you should do so before Apple stoops signing this firmware version. Please note: this untethered jailbreak works only for Apple’s iOS devices which are based on the A4 chip. So, only happy owners of iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch (3G, 4G) and finally iPad 1 owners will be using an untethered jailbreak on their devices. iPhone 4S users and users with iPad 2 will have to wait for some new release.
We consider this to be a great gift from our friendly jailbreak developers! Just what we all needed for holidays! So hurry up to jailbreak your device with Pwnagetools or some other jailbreak solution and get yourself some great jailbreak tweaks and apps!
We have been quite pleased t write this post as Siri is probably one of the best and most popular things becoming available on iOS devices lately. Despite Apple being reluctant to make Siri available to their other iPhone models, jailbreak developers have been busy developing ways to port this fabulous vice assistant to iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. One of the prominent jailbreak developers known as @chpwn has with help from some other developers released a new jailbreak app known as Spire. Spire enables users to legally use Siri on otherwise unsupported Apple iOS devices.
Spire employs a different way of obtaining files needed for Siri to work, thus circumventing previous issues with Apple copyrights. Also in a similar vein, instead of forcing the ensuing traffic through only one server, Siri will enable every user to choose their own proxy server. Spire is available as a download in Cydia ap store right now.
So head over and download and install your own voice assistant and show your Android using friends how cool iPhone really is! As always let us know did this app work for you.

We think our blog is serving a noble task: we strive to help iOS users find their way to jailbreak and unlock their favorite Apple devices. As you have probably noticed, Apple is trying its best to prevent jailbreak dev’s from developing untethered jailbreaks, and any kind of jailbreak for their new devices: iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Will they succeed in closing our devices? We hope not. And if rumors are at least partly reliable, we are bound to see some new developments regarding the untethered jailbreaks quite soon!
So stay tuned as we guide you through the diverse and complicated world of iPhone jailbreaks. As you know, a jailbreak will enable you to customize your device and push it to new levels of usefulness, something Apple should really be proud of, in our humble opinion. iPhone jailbreaking and unlocking is here to stay, and we hope we will fulfil our mission and help you to jailbreak your iOS device, be it an iPhone or iPad, through one of the available or new upcoming jailbreak and unlock solutions.
Again we wish you a Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel, Feliz Navidad!
As a proof that his jailbreak really works on iPhone 4, @Pod2g has made the video bellow where you can see for yourself this new jailbreak in action and working on iPhone 4 as wells as on iPod Touch. It is easy to understand why was the video released: many doubters thought that Pod2g’s new jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 could work only on iPod Touch. Well, to our satisfaction, it works as well on iPhone 4. So get ready to jailbreak your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS with 5.0.1 firmware, with the upcoming new jailbreak release by Pod2g!
So far, users with devices powered by the new Apple‘s A5 chip are out of luck, as iPhone 4S and iPad 2 can not yet be jailbroken with this solution. But you shouldn’t lose all hope: some important breakthroughs have already happened, as Pod2g has earlier explained that A5 caching is not an serious issue anymore.
So we think these holidays could easily become even more fun, as it is quite possible that the new jailrebak is around the corner, and jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 shouldn’t be far away neither. So tighten your seatbelts and stay tuned as we walk you through all latest gossips and news about iPhone jailbreaking and other interesting news form the world of IOS devices.
According to the latest news, Apple has just won a significant victory in their ongoing patent wars against competitors. This time, ITC (International Trade Commission) has ruled a partial ban on a number HTC devices. Details are not yet known about this decision, but if you follow the news about these legal battles you will probably be aware of the fact that HTC, as well as some other large companies wont be too happy about this. Things are getting really serious.
I n their response to this rule, HTC said that they are satisfied with the decision as it, confirmed previous determination on paten 721 and 983 while reverting decisions on patents number 263 and 647. HTC will accept the decisions and respect it entirely. As a first reaction to this decision, HTC will remove patent 647 from all of their devices since it consist of a insignificant UI experience detail.
This whole business will probably gain positive reactions from Apple fans and quite negative ones from the Android camp. What is your opinion on this, do you agree that this is a huge win for Apple?
Jailbreak dev group, better known as iPhone Dev Team have again made us happy with a new update to their well known RedSn0w jailbreak tool. This instalment of the jailbreak introduces a number of incremental improvements as well as a support for latest iOS 5.0.1 firmware. Since Apple is lately focused on upgrading iOS, activities from jailbreak community have to be as frequent as never before, just for them to stay in the loop and gain an upper hand over Apple. And RedSn0w is again doing exactly that. Please note: this version of RedSn0w is still only a tethered jailbreak, so whenever you turn off your device o restart it you need to use plug it into your computer and choose “Just boot tethered”.
Most important feature of this jailbreak tool is that it now jailbreaks iPhone and iPad running iOS 5.0.1. In earlier versions of RedSn0w when you wanted to jailbreak you had to point it to the iOS 5.0 firmware. This isn’t the case now, so you can use iOS 5.0.1 right away. Another great help to jailbreakers is the fact that you can use this software for downgrading the firmware on your device with the previously saved SHSH blobs.
If you are still waiting for a untethered jailbreak, you will need to wait for @pod2g to finish his upcoming untethered jailbreak . According to the latest rumors, Pod2g is busy working on his new solution and it is expected that it could soon become available to all users. However, we wont hold our breath and even weeks could pass before pod2g releases a stable untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 devices. Stay tuned as we guide you through the world of Apple device jailbreaking.
iPhone 4S has being launched in 20 more countries worldwide. Users in these countries will be available to enjoy the best smartphone on the market with a number of new exciting capabilities and services including Siri, iCloud and itunes Match. Here is the list of countries where users from now on can officially get an iPhone 4S:
Vietnam
UAE
Chile
Egypt
Israel
Kuwait
Peru
South Africa
Thailand
Tunisia
Taiwan
Saudi Arabia
Russia
Brazilian
Bahrain
Malaysia
Morocco
Philippines
Qatar
Philippines
This list shows that Apple has already covered the major markets worldwide with the iPhone 4S. As in earlier cases, in some above mentioned countries the price of these new devices is staggering. What would you say if you had to pay the equivalent of $1400 as Brazilians have to do? We are sure there would be much less people eager to get iPhone 4S with a such price tag.
iPhone 4S which is a device which some analysts erroneously downplayed as only a slightly improved iPhone 4, has just received its next firmware upgrade by Apple. If you are an iPhone 4S user, you are probably aware of the battery bug issue where the devices battery gets drown out too quickly. This wouldn’t be the firsts time for Cupertino company to release an iOS version a bit prematurely, as small scale software bugs are almost unavoidable, no matter the long testing stages. Earlier even some hardware components of the iPhone were buggy, like in the case with the infamous antenna issue on iPhone 4.
But no matter the rare mistakes, Apple always tries to solve issues as quickly as possible, so iOS 5.0.1 was released for all devices rather quickly. But the experience so far has showed the bug wasn’t solved yet. So, engineers in Cupertino have continued searching for the solution for this irritating problem, and the iOS 5.1 firmware was the next attempt to solve the battery drain issue. iOS 5.1 is currently available to Apple developers only. With iOS 5.1 Apple will try to do two things at the same time: most importantly, they want to get rid of the bug and secondary they need to upgrade Siri voice assistant. Still, no one knows the release date for iOS 5.1.
And now Apple has decided to release iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4S only. This is not something that is usually seen in the Apple world as it represents a strong tendency of fragmentation of devices and iOS versions which is something Apple always wants to avoid. Still if this could prove as a solution for some serious problem, we bet many users will want to upgrade to this firmware version.
You should be warned that this update is available on for iPhone 4S, so if you have some other iPhone version do not expect any changes yet. Lets hope Cupertino company will find a solution for the battery drain with this iOS release.
Even the mightyApple makes mistakes from time to time. And a mistake they made today, although not a terrible one: it seems that Cupertino company has allowed users abroad to sign up for the new iTunes Match service, which is currently available in US only.
Users in different regions of the world were able to subscribe to iTunes Match, including users in EU, Canada and UK. According to online rumors, despite being allowed to subscribe, no user from located in any other country has actually accessed the service besides making the initial subscription.
Apple has also started refunding users which have already paid for this service. According to some users, Apple has sent emails with apologies and explanations where they write about iTunes Match service being currently available only for users in US and Brazil. So if you are among people which have already paid for iTunes Match and you live outside US and Brazil, you are out of lack. You will have to wait for Apple to launch this interesting service in your part of the world. Are you eager to get your hands on iTunes Match? Let us hear your opinion on this!
American Airlines has being granted use of iPad tablets in commercial airlines instead of traditional charts and manuals by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Same company has previously asked for the approval for using iPads with electronic charts during the last summer, and the tests have proved that iPad can be used as valuable tool for airplane crews. This will definitely add iPad to airliner cockpits.
The company will be first to officially use iPads on their flights during all flight phases. Tablets will be used as electronic charts and flight manual repositories. The first planes to become equipped with iPad wil be B 777 airplane, and subsequently all other airplanes in their fleet will get iPads. This move will significantly increase the safety and efficiency of every flight deck. Both iPad 1 and iPad 2 will be used for this purposes.
We are sure that other companies will quickly follow with this. Official approval came from FAA after through testing and thousands of hours in operation in another various circumstances. Yet another proof of superior quality of Apple tablets. We are sure Android tablets wont be used for this or similar purposes for a long time!
