Will Apple alter its iPhone 3GS pricing?

cheap iPhone lite

Rumors on Apple changing its global strategy with a cheap iPhone version are bountiful last couple of days.  Some analysts believe that iPhone 3GS is planed to stay as a cheap iPhone version even after Apple releases next iPhone model. Could it be that Apple plans to offer iPhone 3GS for $0 with a 2 year carrier contract or for $399 without the contract? Currently, the best bargain you could get is iPhone 3GS 8Gb for $49 with a contract, and the same model for $449 if its without contract.

Could it be that Apple wants to lure more users with the free iPhone 3GS while it plans the release of iPhone 5 (or iPhone 4S as some expect) in September? This strategy could be pointed against steady growth of Android smartphones on the US market. Previously there were many rumors floating about Apple working on a smaller version of iPhone, which could be suitable especially for growing markets in developing economies, mainly in China and India. Some have even dubbed this iPhone version the iPhone Nano, alluding to its supposedly smaller size.

The goal for Apple was supposedly to offer  an more affordable $200 device, which could be a real deal for users in India, a high growth market with a large demand for Apple products. Could it be that Apple has postponed release of iPhone Nano in order to integrate it with their new iCloud service?

iPhone games: Papaya Farm

iPhone game: Papay farm

Who hadn’t dreamt about being a farmer some day? Being a farmer isn’t as easy as it seems on TV. With  this new iPhone game you will get a chance to test your managerial skills in an tropical papaya farm. You will be able to plant, grow and harvest the fruits of your labor on your own virtual farm. This game is easy to play and will be interesting to play for older players as well as for younger ones. When you start the game you will have to purchase your seeds. After you are equipped you can continue your farming life with the planting, and if you are lucky and capable enough you will be rewarded by a bountiful harvest.

First impressions when you start the game, is that it looks a little bit of dull and boring bus as things develop, and get more complicated they will become more dynamic and exiting as well.

It could be said that the game reminds somewhat on a similar themed game, the Farmville which was a big hit on Facebook, and indeed: the game story is almost the same. You can include your friends in the game as neighbouring farmers and chat with them while you work on your virtual farm. One of the best moves in this app is that you can actually steal crops from your friends. But they can do the same to you of course, so to prevent this you will be need to get some dogs to protect your crops. Papay isn’t anything revolutionary new but stil it is a interesting game especially considering the trendy social elements in it. The app is available as a free download in the Apple iTunes Store.

iPhone and iPad games: Imaginary Range

iPhone games: Imaginary Range

Square Enix a well known gaming company has again produced a remarkable game: Imaginary Range. You will enjoy in giant robots, strange plot and big weapons all wrapped in peculiar graphic art. It could be said that this game is somewhat experimental and it could be easiest described as a  mix of casual manga style game and Japanese comic book.  What you get with this game is practically an interactive comic book. When you follow the story you will see different hidden items which you will be need to collect. Some of those items will give you more powers and some other will open new levels of the game.

From time to time you will come to places where you will need to solve some puzzles or riddles which are related to the game plot. The game has around 50 comic book pages to explore and a number of additional puzzle games included. At the end of the game you will see classical comic book promise: “ To be continued” . Hopefully this means that we will soon be able to enjoy in new episodes of this game. Although the game couldn’t be described as extraordinary, it has some charm especially for those of us who love manga and comic books in general. The art work is impressive and if goes well with iPhone and especially iPad due to its larger screen size.

Here is Youtube video with a demo of this game.

Teenagers game most downloaded free iPhone app

Robert Nay’s free game was downloaded over two million times during the last fifteen days.
It’s a physics based brain teaser where you must organize different elements in a creative way to get the ball to the goal. Basically it is a great game to strengthen your logical thinking and get some good fun at the same time.

Surprisingly Mr Nay is just a boy living in a small town in Utah.

He is an ambitious kid who is using local public library for all of his research. Besides his schooling he is also playing trumpet, piano and mandolin but it seems that his true vocation is computer programming. His Bubble Ball game has already toppled the previous most popular game, Rovio’s Angry Birds from the top spot.
If he charged his game only a dollar he would already be a millionaire. Seems that the Utah software genius is not lulled by this sudden glory as he is already working on his next game. He has even started his own gaming company, Nay Games. While his new game is a secret project it seems that it will now be a paid game. Watch out Silicone Valley, here comes the new generation of software geniuses!
You can download Robert Nay’s Bubble Ball game in the app store free of charge.
